IG Picks My Makeup: The Candidates

IG Picks My Makeup: The Candidates

Hello and happy Monday. Since I’m currently on vacation, I decided to do something fun and ambitious with my makeup. This time, it involved Instagram, and more specifically, the friends and family that follow me. I consider myself lucky because I know that many people who follow me are really interested in what I do with makeup, and this wasn’t the exception. I basically followed the “IG chooses my…” trend which was on full swing a few months ago. For each step of my regular makeup process, I selected two products and then made polls for the people who follow me (it feels so weird to say “my followers” when I’m talking about friends and family) to vote.

Here are the candidates:

Brunch With the Girls Makeup Look

Brunch With the Girls Makeup Look

Hello and happy Monday. Sometimes I have to acknowledge the fact that I am a 26-year-old and I have to act accordingly. On such occasions, I take out all my nude-colored makeup and attempt to look like I have my shit together. Last Sunday I met with some old classmates, and I must admit I cleaned up nicely, as you can see in the thumbnail. I’m using Colour Pop’s Good Sport palette, so you know when I reference the names of the shades.¬† These are the steps I followed to achieve the look:

  1. Primer
  2. Concealer
  3. Foundation
  4. Eyebrows
  5. High Hopes (Crease)
  6. Hooky (Eyelid)
  7. Rookie (Center of the lid)
  8. Blue pencil eyeliner (lower lash line)
  9. Mascara
  10. Bronzer
  11. Blush
  12. Nude lipstick
  13. Metallic lip topper
  14. Setting spray

Pink Cut Crease

Pink Cut Crease

Hello and happy Monday. When I say it’s been a while since I’ve done this, I mean it. Luckily for you, I have one month of vacation, which I’ll spend writing and scheduling posts for you, including those with my face covered in makeup. Today I want to show you a classic, one of those eye looks that if you can pull off, you can do with every color combination you can think of. I am of course talking about the cut crease, which in this case is pink because I love pink. I’m using the Colour Pop Main Squeeze palette for this, so I’ll be referring to the names of each shade. These are the steps I followed to achieve the look:

  1. Primer
  2. Stick foundation
  3. Concealer
  4. Powder
  5. Eyebrows
  6. Frosé (Crease)
  7. Like It’s Hot (Eyelid)
  8. “Cut” the middle of the eyelid with concealer
  9. Maraschino (Center of the lid)
  10. Like It’s Hot (Lower lash line)
  11. Rose gold pencil eyeliner (waterline)
  12. Mascara
  13. Bronzer
  14. Pink blush
  15. Rose gold highlighter
  16. Nude liquid lipstick
  17. Nude lipgloss

Purple Queen

Purple Queen

Hello and happy Monday. When I schedule these posts I sometimes get confused because I don’t know which looks I’ve already covered and which I haven’t. The same thing happens when I think I’ve come up with a new makeup look only to discover I’d done exactly the same months before. Anyway, here’s this pink and purple look that I think is cute, and of course, below are the steps I followed to achieve it.

  1. Primer
  2. Foundation
  3. Concealer
  4. Powder
  5. Eyebrows
  6. Purple eyeshadow (eyelid)
  7. Plum (outer corner)
  8. Pink (inner corner)
  9. Purple eyeliner (tightline)
  10. Mascara
  11. Contour
  12. Blush
  13. Pink highlighter
  14. Pink lipstick
  15. Dewy setting spray

What’s a look you can’t get enough of? Let me know in the comments below.

Blue Inverted Smokey Eye

Blue Inverted Smokey Eye

Hello and happy Monday. Today I bring you the rare two-looks-in-one post because, as much as I loved my blue eyeshadow, I know some people might want something more conservative. Either way, below are the steps I followed to achieve today’s looks. Keep in mind that what I mean by “inverted” smokey eye is a smokey eye that starts with a dark color in the inner corner and ends with a light color in the outer corner. It is inverted since these colors are usually applied in the opposite order.

  1. Primer
  2. Foundation
  3. Concealer
  4. Eyebrows
  5. Powder
  6. Matte brown (crease)
  7. Dark blue (inner corner)
  8. Blue (center of the lid)
  9. Light blue (outer corner)
  10. Contour
  11. Blush
  12. Highlighter
  13. Lipgloss
  14. Dewy setting spray

Out of today’s looks, which do you like better and why? Let me know in the comments below.

10-Minute Makeup

10-Minute Makeup

Hello and happy Saturday. You know when things start to get busy for me because I post almost exclusively “quick and easy” makeup looks. The truth is, when I’m in a hurry, I try to find options that take me little time but that still show that I put something on my face, you know? Even if I’m only wearing one shade of eyeshadow and a lippie, I want these to be noticeable. I think that’s pretty clear in today’s look, which I accomplished by following these steps:

  1. Primer
  2. Foundation
  3. Concealer
  4. Powder
  5. Eyebrows
  6. Matte brown (crease)
  7. Black eyeshadow (top lash line)
  8. Mascara
  9. Contour
  10. Blush
  11. Red lipliner
  12. Red liquid lipstick

I love the effect of black eyeshadow as eyeliner. I think it looks smokey but at the same time, it’s defined and easier to apply than liquid liner. What do you prefer? Let me know in the comments below.
