August 2019 Kawaii Box

August 2019 Kawaii Box

Hello and happy Sunday. Scheduling posts in advance, or even planning to write something with months of anticipation is funny because I always want to say “it’s been a while since I’ve done this” but you’re probably still getting those posts consistently because I wrote them a while before. Anyway, this is a Kawaii Box unboxing and I am always excited to make these, especially since my subscription is over and I will not be unsubscribing. I am a teacher, so most of the items I get, go directly to my classroom because I used to have a “market” every month and my kids could get rewards in exchange of sticker points they earned. I’m clarifying because you might be wondering why I get this box only to leave everything in my classroom.

Kawaii Desserts Erasers

I don’t know why but I love erasers that don’t look like erasers. At some point, I had a chocolate-bar-shaped one, a carrot-shaped one, and yes, I felt very tempted to keep this cute dessert plate with candy-shaped erasers for myself, but I thought my students would enjoy them more.

Nekoni Mini Puffy Stickers

I can’t see clearly which stickers these are, so I don’t know whether they went into my classroom or I kept them for myself. I like having these stickers too, even though nine times out of ten they go to my students.

Mystery Kawaii Snack

These were matcha/powder milk snacks and let me tell you, the texture is pretty weird. I would advice to get a glass of water or milk or something with these because they’re powdery. I’m not a huge fan of matcha but these were alright.

Shimmery Mt Fuji Pen and Donut Bunny Pen

These pens are the cutest and the ink is amazing. I already have many, so I decided to leave them for my students, even though they’re still in elementary and don’t use pens yet.

Lollipop Highlighter Set

This was the first thing that one of my students got when I did the “market” thing. That is, this set of lollipop-shaped highlighters was the first thing that went, and honestly, had I been a student, these too would have been my first choice.

Shibanban Sticky Notes

In hindsight, I should’ve kept these to myself because I’m running out of ones and I never get around to buying sticky notes. I am sure one of my students is probably enjoying them now.

Fluffy Bunny Dancing Ears Hat

I’ve never worn this and I probably never will, but I’m keeping this just in case in the drawer where I have all sorts of accessories. What if one day I decide to dress up like a bunny for a lesson?

School Girl Aiko Notebook

In my class last school year I had three boys and one girl. The girl got this notebook. She always waited to have enough points to get the “big” items.

Which of these items was your favorite and why? Let me know in the comments.

Happy Sunday!

All the Cute Stuff (Kawaii Box Unboxing)

All the Cute Stuff (Kawaii Box Unboxing)

Hello and happy Thursday. I think it’s time for another Kawaii Box unboxing and review, don’t you think? We’ll do the same as last week: I’ll list each product and briefly talk about it. Let’s get started, shall we?

1. Kabaya Shaka Shaka Gummy

Here’s a tip for anyone who wants to win me over: do it with gummies. I’m absolutely obsessed with gummy candy and the ones I got in my Kawaii box for the month of April were just heavenly. There was this yogurt-flavored powder I sprinkled on top of the candy and absolutely devoured every piece of it. Dear Kawaii Box people, keep sending gummies in your boxes. Please.

2. Rainbow Alpacasso Purse

This thing is the absolute cutest, and though I don’t know when and where it would be appropriate to use it, given that my phone is too large to fit inside this purse, every time I see it, I stroke it and hold it to me like a stuffed animal. I have to keep it hidden, though, because my dogs think it’s a toy and have tried to, well, play with it.

3. Happy Bear Bread Mold

I gave mine to my grandmother so that every time I come over and she makes sandwiches or toast she can use this cute mold. I’ve even thought about taking it to school for a class I do with my Pre-K students in which we make sandwiches. I think it would add a ton of cuteness to the activity.

4. Blippo Sweet Pocket Mirror

Yay! I kid you not, I use this mirror on the daily to apply makeup every day. It’s not even in a purse, but rather inside one of my makeup boxes because I need to keep it close to me. The design and colors are the cutest, too.

5. BK Glow-in-the-dark Nail Polish

This is why you should read the card boxes come with before trying on the items. I applied this nail polish the very same day I got the box and really liked the color and pigmentation of it. It chips a lot, but I’m used to it already, and it’s a tiny bit streaky, but then again, it’s not a professional nail polish or anything so I’m not too bothered by it. The color is super summery, so I was very happy about it, and then I was even happier when I went to bed and noticed that my nails were glowing, for real, like those stickers you put on the ceiling. I’ve tried glow-in-the-dark makeup and nail polish before, but none of it work. This, though, is the real deal.

6. Blippo Pastel Heart Hair Ties

Okay, besides these hair ties being super adorable, they’re actually useful, and I give Kawaii Box credit for always included practical items that serve a purpose and not just a bunch of cute stuff. I use these hair ties at  home and even for work because my hair has now reached a length I really enjoy, but can’t stand it all down.

7. Sweet Food Cart Puffy Stickers

I got more stickers for my collection and I couldn’t be happier! I haven’t opened them, though, because I want to take them to school and give them to my students when we’re working on food-related vocabulary or something.

8. Breakfast Sticky Notes

I was very eggscited about these sticky notes because if you hadn’t noticed, I adore puns and sticky notes. These particular ones are not going to school, but to my personal stash at home. The same day I got them, I used two because I literally couldn’t resist.

9. Pastel Rainbow Ink Pen

Guess where this pen is right now. Yes, it’s at school, and despite the fact that I have tons of colorful pens and markers, I always reach for this one. It reminds me so much of my childhood, and I love that it’s neon pastel.

10. Pine Sanrio Lollipop

This lollipop tasted like buttered pop corn, and I know some of you might think that’s disgusting, but I actually like that flavor for candy, so I enjoyed this lollipop. It was also a good way to finish my unboxing.

I’m always in search of new cute boxes, so if you know of one that ships to Colombia and is not extremely expensive, let me know in the comments!

Happy Thursday!

Kawaii Box Unboxing + Review

Kawaii Box Unboxing + Review

Hello and happy Thursday. As a lover of all things pretty, I’d like to introduce you to Kawaii Box, a monthly subscription box that for $19.80 delivers you the cutest things you’ve ever seen. I’m talking about stickers, stationery, candy and other goodies you’ll love. Did I mention international shipping is free? Well, now you know.

I was subscribed last year, then cancelled my subscription and re-subscribed again earlier this year. Today I want to share with you what I got in my March box (which I actually received in May) so that you have an idea of the goodies included in the box and evaluate whether it’s worth it to you or not.

The card that comes with the box says there were eleven items included, so I’ll least each and briefly review it. Let’s get started!

1. Bunny Purse

I’m a preschool teacher, so I love all things fluffy and fuzzy. This is perfect for the loose change I keep in the backpack I take to school, and the size is great because I can find it easily among all the stuff I keep.

2. Carrot Erasers

Yeah, so, among everything I collect, I have my own box full of erasers shaped as macaroons, chocolate bars, and now I have carrot erasers! I might not use them for what they’re intended, but I’ll keep them around for sure.

3. Puffy Stickers

These went straight to my stickers box. I adore stickers and these ones are just so pretty to look at. Honestly, I feel like all my preschool-teacher dreams are being fulfilled with the goodies in this box.

4. Temporary Tattoos

At first I thought they were stickers and I just wanted to have somewhere to place them and look at them forever, then when I read the card I thought of putting a little crown on my ring finger just because I thought that would look so cute. I decided, though, that I’ll wait until I’m on vacation because I don’t want students asking me questions about my body art. For now they are in, you guessed it, my temporary tattoos box.

5. Sticky Notes

I have sticky notes shaped like arrows, telephones, stars, hearts, and even sleeping cats, but I didn’t have a pad of sticky notes shaped like a panda’s head with its mouth wide open. I probably won’t use them to answer any notes from parents in them, though because I have to make them believe I’m a serious, responsible adult.

6. Chocolate Cookies

I wanted to save these for when my sister came home, but that resolution lasted for about ten seconds. These cookies were absolutely amazing and I want to have more of these. Like, is there any chance that I can get the supersized version?

7. Bag Tag

This is one of those things I didn’t know were a thing until I got one. I want to travel now more than ever so that I can attach this to my suitcase and be like “yep, that’s mine, the one with the macaroons bag tag.”

8. Magnetic Bookmarks

You should know by now that I love collecting stuff, and among that stuff are of course bookmarks. My favorite, though, are the short magnetic ones because they literally can’t go anywhere as opposed to large paper ones that can sometimes fall off, but they don’t leave marks in the pages like some clip bookmarks do. These ones are a bit flimsy but I think it’s because of the material they were made from. I haven’t used them yet but as soon as I pick up a physical book.

9. Acrylic Pins

Can we start getting a couple of pins in each box? Because honestly, these were so pretty and bright that I want to star collecting them. They are now on the bag I take to Portuguese classes because I want my classmates to see how cool I am.

10. Candy Gel Pen

This might be a teacher thing, but gel pens are my absolute favorite thing. I love how pigmented the ink is and how they glide on the page. Plus, this one has a cute ball thingy in the tip that looks like those accessories you can tie to zippers. I will leave mine on the cap of my pen because I think it looks nice that way.

11. Candy DIY Kit

Here’s a confession: I ate all the candy and didn’t create any shape like the box instructed. I also bit the carton stick because I thought it too was a piece of candy. The actual edible goodies tasted like the best years of my childhood. I felt like I was eating edible play dough and loved every second of it.

So, as you can see, for less than $20 I got eleven items I absolutely loved. You can click here and check out the Kawaii Box page and maybe think about giving it a try.

Let me know about your favorite subscription box for cute stuff!

Happy Thursday!
