Hello and happy Saturday. I think that my least favorite kind of series are duologies. To me, they’re unnecessary and they leave me more intrigued than I was in the first place. Like, I can’t have real closure with a duology. That being said, I have started my fair share and have made it my mission to finish them.
One duology I’m sure you’ve heard of is If I Stay by Gayle Forman. The first book was even was adapted to movie format, although I didn’t quite like it as much. This is the story of a teenage girl who was in a terrible car accident and pretty much has to decide whether she’ll live or die. Now, of course, the second is what happens after she makes this decision.
I read this book between June 25th and June 29th, 2014, when my grandfather was in the ICU. That, in a way, helped me be more critical of the descriptions the author made of the hospital since I was pretty much living at a hospital at the time. I gave it four stars, but I have a feeling that my rating would be lower if I read the book today.
I’ve had the paperback version of this book for a while, and it seems short, so I’m thinking I can just binge-reading. I don’t have any plans of picking it up soon, but it’s in my TBR list, so be prepared for the review.
What kind of series do you prefer and why? Let me know in the comments.
Love, Miss Camila
