Hello and happy Thursday. Today’s the day for looking into my recent past and discovering the things that made me happy on a given day. If you’re new to this blog or it’s your first time reading a “Thankful Thursday” post, every day for a few years now I sit down and write one thing that made me happy. I don’t provide any context about what I write, but I like keeping a record. What I do in this series called Thankful Thursday is go into those things I wrote and share a little bit about them. Right now we are exploring my happy thoughts of 2018, which was a tough year for me, and I’m glad I’m past everything that happened then.
March 12th, 2018: Buying new luggage makes me happy.
I remember this one vividly because I think for outside viewers it might look absurd but to me, it’s evidence of who I am. I was in Baltimore for the first time, trying to make it by myself for a week, and I had bought a shitton of stuff, which clearly didn’t fit in my suitcase. When I say “a shitton,” I mean I got the entire Harry Potter collection with the spines that together make the outline of Hogwarts for my best friend. So, naturally when a person buys the contents of a house, said person needs to buy a suitcase, right? Well, I bought a duffel bag that could fit an adult human comfortably. I haven’t tried fitting a person into it, but I’m pretty sure. That thing is so huge it looks like a tent, and I filled it to the brim with presents and souvenirs. As absurd as the story can sound, though, it’s not the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last that I have to buy more luggage to store the stuff I’d been buying during my trip.
Do you buy a lot of stuff when you travel? Let me know in the comments below.
Love, Miss Camila
