Hello and happy Sunday. I’ve noticed on Youtube that the “my makeup then vs. now” videos have resurfaced, and even though I already made a post in which I compared how I used to do my makeup before and how I currently do it, I think it would be really useful for me to really talk about the techniques I’m using now and how they’ve changed over time. I’m going to go step by step, following my usual makeup routine, and I’ll explain how everything’s changed. Let’s get started, shall we?
When it comes to primer application, the biggest change is that now I almost always use a brush. When I started wearing primer, I’d apply it with my hands, but now the brush is my preferred tool for application.
Did you notice I didn’t continue with concealer? I have recently switched up my routine, and now I apply foundation straight after priming and then I do concealer. I’ve noticed that my skin looks better, more even, and that the dark circles under my eyes are better concealed.
I now apply my concealer with a brush as opposed to a sponge. It does take longer to blend, but the finish is so much better that the extra time needed is totally worth it.
There was a time when I used to bake religiously, but now I only do it when I’m going full-glam. I like how my skin looks when I don’t bake, like it’s more natural, at least that’s what it seems.
Lately I haven’t been applying any color to my eyebrows, just a clear gel so that they stay in place throughout the day.
I now prefer a wash of color, applied with a blending brush, rather than something more elaborate like I used to before.
Those are the main changes I’ve made when it comes to application techniques. Have you changed anything in the way you apply your makeup? Let me know in the comments.
Love, Miss Camila
