Christmas Treats for Students

Christmas Treats for Students

Hello and happy Saturday. As crazy as the holidays drive us, we still love our students and want to give them a nice little treat to show our love, right? And we want to do that without going broke or spending a ton of time, which is why today I want to share with you a simple but very cute idea of what you can give to your students for the holidays. Let’s get started, shall we?

You’ll need candy canes for this. Now, my dad got this 48-pack for about $6 at a store in Colombia, but if you’re in the States, you’ll probably get even better deals. When I did this, I had 36 students, which is why I needed so many candy canes.

I love all things sparkly and shiny, so I got these garland thingies to decorate the canes (I’ll show you how in a second). You can also use ribbon, but the nice thing about what I got is that it is actually like a wire, so it is sturdier and stays in place.

I made some tags, which you can see in the red box. They just say “Happy Holidays! Love, Cami” and they have a Hello Kitty design I colored myself using markers.

You can make your own tags, or you can download them if you’re feeling crafty. If not, I guess you can always buy them or search for a ready-to-print version online.

This is why I needed the garland to be sturdy, because I wrapped it around the candy canes. Now, I punched a hole in each card and then put the garland into the hole so that the tag looked like it was hanging from the cane.

This is the end result. It was super easy to do, and I didn’t spend a lot of time on money, but I’m sure my students were thrilled with their treats.

Do you give anything to your students for the holidays? Tell me about it in the comments!

Happy Saturday!

Love, Miss Camila
