“New” Authors

Hello and happy Wednesday. Something I love about reviewing books is the fact that I get to discover authors I had no idea about and then I can add their other books to my wish list or my TBR list. In today’s post I bring you four authors I recently discovered, as well as my thoughts on them. Let’s get started, shall we?

Eric Lindstrom

He is the author of Not If I See You First, and A Tragic Kind of Wonderful, which I haven’t read. I really enjoyed his style, especially because Not If I See You First is told from the perspective of a blind teenage girl and he’s none of those things, so it’s clear that he did his research. I’ll read A Tragic Kind of Wonderful and let you know what I thought about it.

Audrey Carlan

She writes mommy porn, okay? She’s the author of the Calendar Girl. I’m reading the books in Spanish, and I know that translations are not as accurate as originals. I’m also not going to talk about the quality of Carlan’s style because let’s be real, that’s not why I like her books. She’s written a bunch of other series, and I’m not making any promises here, but I might be looking into them sometime in the future.

Robyn Schneider

I’d had a Robyn Schneider book in my TBR list for the longest time and then when I read it I was sort of disappointed. Okay, The Beginning of Everything is a good book, and I really enjoyed reading it, but the end was not my thing at all and I think in a way it affected my general view of the story. Still, she has other books that I also want to read, and I’ll give them a chance when I can.

Jessica Verdi

She is the author of The Summer I Wasn’t Me, which I consider a must-read, especially if you’re into LGBTQ* books and want to expand your horizons beyond the typical coming out stories we’re often given in YA novels. I really liked her style and the way the story handled different issues in a realistic way. I’m going to keep reading her books and sharing my thoughts on them with you.

Now you tell me about an author that is “new” for you and whether you liked reading them or not.

Happy reading!

Love, Miss Camila
