Netflix Talk: Once Upon a Time

NETFLIX TALK_ (1).pngHello and happy Saturday. As I’m getting older, I’m more into fantasy and supernatural/ paranormal stuff, and not just when it comes to books, but also the shows I watch. I recently decided to give Once Upon a Time another chance because I watched season one a while ago and then basically forgot about it. Well, as of right now I’m on season four, so I’m almost done with the show, at least what is available on Netflix. Let’s get started, shall we?

Eleven-year-old Henry reminded me a little bit of my best friend’s nephew, and that made me love the show even more. I thought season one was super cute and innocent, even with the fighting scenes and some “deep” subjects, like the fact that Emma gave Henry up for adoption when she was 18.

There is a sexual vibe at times, but nothing explicit, I mean, it’s not Game of Thrones or anything like that. Besides, how can there not be sex when Jamie Dornan is acting? Yes, he is the hot-ass sheriff, so once again, he’s playing a character who’s into handcuffs…interesting. Also, his accent, which I thought was a bit ridiculous, is real. Oops, sorry.

I loved some more technical aspects of the show, like how it alternates between the fairy-tale world and the real world, and the amazing job done with the costumes and scenery. I also really like the fact that each episode focuses on telling the story of a particular character.

Of course, there were things I didn’t quite love, and I’m going to tell you about it. If you know me, then you probably know that I adore Ginnifer Goodwin, and that He’s Just Not That Into You and Something Borrowed are pretty much my favorite movies and I watch them every chance I get. I despise how she looks as Mary Margaret with her short black hair. It’s also really disturbing to think that Snow White/ Mary Margaret is Emma’s mom. No. Doesn’t work for me.

Have you watched Once Upon A Time? What do you like the most about this show? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Saturday!

Love, Miss Camila
