Hello and happy Sunday. As you read this I’ll be by the beach, enjoying spring break with my friends from uni, but obviously I wasn’t going to leave you without a post. Although I often talk about makeup, I’ve become more and more obsessed with skin and hair care, and those are the two things today’s post is dedicated to.
Let’s start by skin care. When I started playing with makeup, I realized my skin tends to be normal to oily. Now, I don’t know if this happens to you, but to me at first it was dreadful to think of my skin as anything but normal. I know, it’s kind of dumb now because one skin type is not better than the other, they just need different treatments. So, of course, I try to use exfoliating and cleansing products that are still moisturizing. When I heard a Youtuber (don’t remember who) talk about the Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser I knew I would fall in love with it. Basically it is the answer to all my skin-related prayers. This awesome cream removes your makeup as well as pretty much any sort of impurities you have; I’ve tried it twice after working out and it’s just amazing. I also love that my skin is left feeling super moisturized and smooth, and I’ll be reaching for it often.
Let’s talk about hair now. My hair, along with my eyebrows, is my baby. I love and care for my hair in ways you can’t imagine. That being said, I love having fun with it, which means that twice a year I’ll go to the salon and dye it. I try not to cut it as often, so maybe twice a year is the quota for my haircuts too, and for almost two years now I’ve reduced the washing to twice a week. I only wash my hair during the weekend, and that is if I go to Zumba. The problem with that is that my roots got super oily but my tips were very dry. I would treat the dryness using chia or argan oil, but for my roots I didn’t do anything. See, I don’t use dry shampoo because it’s pretty expensive and I don’t think it works that well.
Apparently, though, many people suffer from my oily roots + dry tips problem because L’Oreal came up with the most amazing line that combats both. The L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay shampoo and conditioner are now my lifesavers. The scent is wonderful, and the texture of both products is super nice. I love that you get that feeling of clean hair and that it really does help keep a balance.
I’m always trying out new things, either because I choose them and buy them myself or because I get them in subscription boxes, but these are my babes. What are your current favorites and why?
Love, Miss Camila
